The Buy With Confidence scheme was initiated in 1999 by Hampshire County Council to help businesses comply with the law while improving consumer protection through a partnership approach. Since then the scheme has spread to a number of other Local Authorities across the south.

The National Security Inspectorate (NSI) is the leading approvals and certification body that inspects companies providing home security, business security, and fire protection services.
