Security Lighting

Deter unwanted intruders to safeguard your property and ensure peace of mind.

Security lighting is lighting that is specially designed to deter criminal activity. By providing enough illumination to clearly identify individuals, lights that are placed in strategic locations around your property will act as a clear deterrent, providing an extra sense of safety.

Security lighting is a multi-tasking security measure that protects people and properties. As well as deterring intruders and highlighting other security measures such as CCTV, security lighting improves personal safety and reduces the chances of incidents. Security lighting supplied by Absolute Security can be connected to our engineering team for remote notification of technical problems and a swift response.

Qualified & Approved Security Lighting Providers

We are fully qualified to the latest standards to supply and install all security lighting we provide. As NSI Gold approved installers, we fit, commission and maintain entry systems to the highest possible industry standard.

Residential security lighting

Burglars usually assess a house prior to breaking in and evaluate the risks to themselves in doing so. Home security lighting changes the status quo of that assessment, illuminating areas that were previously in darkness.

But domestic security lighting systems do more than improve a home’s security. Security lighting is both helpful and reassuring, for example when putting the bins out at night or to welcome guests on a dark evening.

Business security lighting

Protect your premises, property and people with an efficient and effective security lighting system. The wide range of security lighting systems we provide means we can create a system that’s specific to your exact requirements. Watch over your grounds and carparks as well as your building with security lighting that works at a range of depths and distances to protect against break-ins, theft and vandalism.

Security lighting is also a practical tool to ensure the safety of your staff and customers at night and may help reduce your liability for accidents that might otherwise happen at night.

Public sector security lighting

Security lighting plays a large part in protecting premises and people, especially in locations used by more vulnerable groups of people such as schools or healthcare locations. As well as protecting buildings and potential crime hotspots such as garages or storage units, our security lighting systems can be used to illuminate grounds, carparks and walkways to deter vandalism, theft and break-ins.

As well as being used to deter property damage and theft, security lighting systems protect your staff and the public, something that’s especially important for staff and visitors who arrive or depart in hours of darkness. The extra visibility provided by security lighting may also reduce the likelihood of accidents in the dark, helping reduce liability for these events.

Integrated security lighting

We can integrate your new security lighting with existing security measures such as CCTV and automatic gates for even greater effectiveness and peace of mind.

For added effectiveness and attention, we can integrate security lighting to your security alarm system so that, for example, the lights flash when your security alarm is activated.

Commonly asked questions about security lighting:

What type of security lighting is available?

We provide a full range of security lighting systems, most of which are LED due to their increased reliability, resilience and energy efficiency compared to traditional lighting.

We typically recommend installing separate lights and motion detectors for greater security. Not only do intruders struggle to identify motion detectors – making it more difficult for them to avoid them – but we can ensure lights and motion detectors are placed in the best possible locations to act as a deterrent.

Our security lighting systems provide lighting specific to your location and needs, with a full range of depths and distances covered, from targeted spotlights to ranges covering several hundred metres.

Can you fit security lighting to a listed building?

Yes. There is a solution for any property style or age – from brand new properties through to heritage buildings. If you wish to fit security lighting to a listed building, we will recommend and source a system which is sympathetic to the property’s features and age. We may even be able to enhance its uniqueness through carefully placed lights.

How do I know which type of security lighting is right for my home or business?

No two properties are the same, which is why we don’t offer out-of-the-box security lighting systems. Instead, we carry out a full, free survey to assess your property’s dimensions and layout and potential black spots that an intruder could take advantage of. We will also discuss the degree of security you want to achieve, lighting design requirements and the degree of sophistication you are interested in.

With this information, we can then discuss the different options that would suit your home or business so you can make an informed choice about the right security lighting system for you.

Which brands of security lighting does Absolute Security install?

We supply and install a number of different manufacturer’s brands including GJD, Raytec and Voltek.

Is security lighting energy efficient?

LED technology means that today’s security lighting systems are remarkably energy efficient, giving you impressive electricity bill savings in comparison to older lighting technology. Not only is the cost of running LED lighting very attractive, but as the popularity of LED lighting has grown, the costs of LED security lighting have become significantly more affordable.

Where are the best places to install security lighting?

Because each property is different, the best place to install security lighting varies from place to place. Some of the most common places to install security lighting include the entrances and approaches to your property. Security lighting is also very effective when used alongside other security measures such as monitored CCTV. Because of the wide range of possible locations, we carry out a free survey of every property before recommending the best installation locations for your new security lights.

What happens if something goes wrong with my security lighting?

We provide permanent full parts and labour warranties on all new equipment supplied and installed by us. Therefore, if there is a problem with your security lighting and it is within warranty, we will fix it for you with no questions asked.

Regular services and maintenance are the best way to avoid problems with your security lights. For this reason, you can choose from a range of security lighting packages to suit different needs and different budgets. You will gain full parts and labour warranty on all new equipment supplied and installed by us.

How much does new security lighting cost?

Because of the range of security lighting systems and the varying options for each property, it is not possible to give an example cost for a security lighting. However, we are very happy to talk to you about the range of options that might suit your needs and give you an approximate cost. We provide full quotations with zero obligation to help you budget appropriately and will carry out a free survey of your property to understand your requirements first-hand.

To help you spread the cost of your purchase, you can pay for your system over a fixed period of instalments. It’s also important to note, that unlike some other security companies, you will own your security lighting system once you have paid in full.
