Beach hut and shed security

May 30, 2014/0 Comments/in News/by devteam212

Earlier in the spring, you may have read in the news that a number of beach huts had been targeted by burglars and vandals.

We’re often asked if beach huts and other ‘outdoor rooms’, such as home offices, workshops and sheds can be protected with burglar alarms.  The answer is usually yes if there is some form of basic electrical supply to the building.

With many beach huts now making use of solar electricity panels, this means a basic wireless alarm system is possible. These security systems do not require a phone-line in order to function – if the alarm is activated their SMS transmitter sends a text message to your phone.  The system will, however, need a continuous source of electricity in order to function effectively – ideally at least 1 Amp at 230 Volts.
