Mains Powered Fire Detection For Small Period Cottage

The Situation

Our client was the owner of a small period cottage and the nature of his job meant he was often away for long periods of time with work. The Cottage had a thatched roof and other historic features.

Our client was very conscious of the risk of fire to his property and worried about a number of belongings which held strong sentimental value for him (and which were irreplaceable from a personal perspective). He came to us with the desire to have a fire detection system which didn’t rely on batteries (which he said he was prone to forget to change). He also wanted the system to be linked up to a remote monitoring resource in case a fire occured whilst he was away.

The Solution

We set up just such a system – one that did indeed run off the mains supply and would alert a remote monitoring system if it was activated. The system had heat and smoke sensors at various points throughout the property so that any instance of fire could be quickly detected and tackled.
